(Prensa Latina) Autoridades cubanas se\u00f1alan hoy que la protecci\u00f3n al patrimonio geol\u00f3gico en Cuba contin\u00faa fortaleci\u00e9ndose con la implementaci\u00f3n de los Geoparques y la declaraci\u00f3n de Geositios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa-latina.cu\/2024\/12\/11\/\"><time>diciembre 11, 2024 | 09:04<\/time><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa-latina.cu\/2024\/12\/11\/avanzan-en-cuba-los-geoparques\/#\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa-latina.cu\/2024\/12\/11\/avanzan-en-cuba-los-geoparques\/#\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa-latina.cu\/2024\/12\/11\/avanzan-en-cuba-los-geoparques\/#\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa-latina.cu\/2024\/12\/11\/avanzan-en-cuba-los-geoparques\/#\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Un informe oficial se\u00f1ala este mi\u00e9rcoles que lo anterior se constat\u00f3 en la m\u00e1s reciente sesi\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 Nacional de Geoparques, realizada el 28 de noviembre en la sede del Ministerio de Energ\u00eda y Minas (Minem) y encabezada por el viceministro primero Argelio Abad Vigoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los Geoparques son territorios, con l\u00edmites claramente definidos, que albergan un patrimonio geol\u00f3gico de relevancia internacional usado como base de su desarrollo socioecon\u00f3mico, mientras un Geositio o sitio de inter\u00e9s geol\u00f3gico es un lugar natural, que por su valor, es considerado patrimonio geol\u00f3gico por mostrar elementos caracter\u00edsticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por ejemplo, el geoparque Vi\u00f1ales (occidente de Cuba), aprobado en 2021 nacionalmente, ejecuta un proyecto de implementaci\u00f3n que termina en 2025 con m\u00faltiples tareas encaminadas a mejorar su sostenibilidad y visibilidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comentan, que dos representantes de este geoparque participaron recientemente en la Septima Conferencia de la Red de Geoparques de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (Red GeoLac), celebrada del 6 al 9 de noviembre en Brasil. Todos los participantes apoyaron la incorporaci\u00f3n de Cuba, a trav\u00e9s del geoparque Vi\u00f1ales, a esta red regional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considerando los valores del de Vi\u00f1ales y la fundamentaci\u00f3n presentada por Ecovida, entidad que le gestiona, el Comit\u00e9 dio su dictamen favorable para llevar a la aprobaci\u00f3n del Consejo de Ministros que Vi\u00f1ales sea candidato a Geoparque Mundial de la Unesco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque el proceso toma tres a\u00f1os en la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Educaci\u00f3n, la Ciencia y la Cultura (Unesco), es de por s\u00ed un reconocimiento al trabajo realizado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aprobado este mismo a\u00f1o, en abril, el de Gran Piedra (oriente) tuvo su estreno en el evento internacional de turismo de naturaleza (Turnat 2024, septiembre). Dicho evento lo organiza el Ministerio del Turismo (Mintur).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Varios recorridos de este encuentro visitaron la Gran Piedra, para lo cual, Bioeco, su entidad gestora, prepar\u00f3 las condiciones. Adem\u00e1s del \u00e1rea espec\u00edfica, la empresa Geominera Oriente, prepar\u00f3 un documento con una descripci\u00f3n de los valores naturales de las georutas del sur de Cuba oriental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dicho recorrido abarca desde Cabo Cruz, en la provincia Granma, hasta Baracoa en Guant\u00e1namo. Para el 2025 el equipo del geoparque organiza un proyecto de implementaci\u00f3n con m\u00faltiples tareas en aras de ser m\u00e1s sostenible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El proyecto para la presentaci\u00f3n del expediente del de Guamuhaya no se queda lejos, se prev\u00e9 su culminaci\u00f3n a inicios del 2025 para pasar al proceso de valoraci\u00f3n por los organismos correspondientes y final aprobaci\u00f3n por acuerdo del Consejo de Ministros.
