advirti\u00f3 que&nbsp;<strong>Rep\u00fablica Dominicana<\/strong>&nbsp;podr\u00eda recibir m\u00e1s de&nbsp;<strong>3.5 millones de toneladas de sargazo<\/strong>&nbsp;durante este a\u00f1o, lo que representar\u00eda una de las cifras m\u00e1s altas registradas hasta la fecha.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-05d8f1d\" data-block-id=\"05d8f1d\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Durante su intervenci\u00f3n en&nbsp;<strong>LA Semanal con la Prensa<\/strong>, celebrada en el&nbsp;<strong>Palacio Nacional<\/strong>, el funcionario calific\u00f3 el fen\u00f3meno como una&nbsp;<strong>\u201cemergencia regional\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;y alert\u00f3 que el 2025 podr\u00eda marcar un&nbsp;<strong>r\u00e9cord hist\u00f3rico<\/strong>&nbsp;en la acumulaci\u00f3n de esta alga marina en costas dominicanas.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-11e48fd\" data-block-id=\"11e48fd\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">\u201cEl sargazo es un problema nuevo, de la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, en Rep\u00fablica Dominicana y el Caribe, y todav\u00eda no hemos llegado a identificar c\u00f3mo poder combatirlo\u201d, expres\u00f3 Pa\u00edno Henr\u00edquez.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Seg\u00fan el ministro, en el\u00a0<strong>Caribe se espera la llegada de 35 millones de toneladas de sargazo<\/strong>, de las cuales\u00a0<strong>alrededor del 10 % afectar\u00eda a Quisqueya<\/strong>. Para poner en contexto, en 2022 se registraron 1.8 millones de toneladas en el pa\u00eds, mientras que el 2024 fue uno de los a\u00f1os con menor acumulaci\u00f3n debido a las intensas lluvias.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-a03f80d\" data-block-id=\"a03f80d\"><style>.stk-a03f80d {min-height:0px !important;margin-right:71px !important;margin-left:43px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Acciones conjuntas y liderazgo regional<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-40cd174\" data-block-id=\"40cd174\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Henr\u00edquez inform\u00f3 que el pa\u00eds trabajar\u00e1 junto a&nbsp;<strong>Francia y M\u00e9xico<\/strong>&nbsp;en un&nbsp;<strong>plan de acci\u00f3n internacional<\/strong>&nbsp;que incluir\u00e1 la movilizaci\u00f3n de financiamiento, el impulso a la&nbsp;<strong>investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica<\/strong>, y la&nbsp;<strong>valorizaci\u00f3n segura del sargazo<\/strong>&nbsp;como recurso.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-c7399c4\" data-block-id=\"c7399c4\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Asimismo, subray\u00f3 que el problema del sargazo seguir\u00e1 siendo&nbsp;<strong>prioridad en la agenda nacional<\/strong>&nbsp;en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os, mientras no se encuentre una soluci\u00f3n sostenible y eficaz.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-78a8078\" data-block-id=\"78a8078\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\"><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reconocimiento internacional<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-f6fb06c\" data-block-id=\"f6fb06c\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">El ministro tambi\u00e9n destac\u00f3 que Rep\u00fablica Dominicana ha sido seleccionada como&nbsp;<strong>vicepresidenta de la Asamblea de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (UNEA)<\/strong>, representando a&nbsp;<strong>Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/strong>&nbsp;junto a Brasil. Calific\u00f3 el nombramiento como un&nbsp;<strong>logro diplom\u00e1tico significativo<\/strong>&nbsp;y un reconocimiento al compromiso ambiental del pa\u00eds.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div has-text-align-justify\">Durante su intervenci\u00f3n, Henr\u00edquez record\u00f3 la importancia de la&nbsp;<strong>Tercera Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Oc\u00e9ano<\/strong>, celebrada recientemente en Francia, y reiter\u00f3 el compromiso dominicano con la&nbsp;<strong>conservaci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas marinos<\/strong>, la lucha contra la contaminaci\u00f3n y el fortalecimiento de la&nbsp;<strong>gobernanza internacional de los oc\u00e9anos<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-27f2580\" data-block-id=\"27f2580\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Destac\u00f3, adem\u00e1s, que el&nbsp;<strong>Acuerdo de los Oc\u00e9anos<\/strong>&nbsp;ser\u00e1 una prioridad para el pa\u00eds, ya que busca&nbsp;<strong>garantizar la conservaci\u00f3n y el uso sostenible de la biodiversidad marina<\/strong>, as\u00ed como&nbsp;<strong>promover el acceso equitativo a los recursos gen\u00e9ticos marinos<\/strong>&nbsp;y el&nbsp;<strong>fortalecimiento de capacidades en los pa\u00edses en
