N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre el 26 y el 29 de enero de 2026, el Centro de Estudios Ambientales de Cienfuegos (CEAC) recibi\u00f3 la visita t\u00e9cnica de una delegaci\u00f3n del Centro de Ciencias del Medio Ambiente, la Pesca y la Acuicultura (Cefas), agencia ejecutiva del Departamento de Medio Ambiente, Alimentaci\u00f3n y Asuntos Rurales (Defra) del Reino Unido, en el marco del Convenio de Colaboraci\u00f3n de ambas instituciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/elbohiorevista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Maikel-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3410\" 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La representaci\u00f3n brit\u00e1nica estuvo integrada por el MSc David Hughes, especialista en biogeoqu\u00edmica marina y programas internacionales de investigaci\u00f3n, y el Dr. Franck Dal Molin, experto en radioqu\u00edmica ambiental y protecci\u00f3n radiol\u00f3gica con m\u00e1s de 15 a\u00f1os de experiencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El programa incluy\u00f3 presentaciones cient\u00edficas, recorridos por laboratorios, debates t\u00e9cnicos y sesiones de trabajo conjunto. Se abordaron temas como el panorama del Carbono Azul en el Reino Unido, las capacidades anal\u00edticas de Cefas en qu\u00edmica ambiental y radioqu\u00edmica, estudios de caso sobre herramientas de an\u00e1lisis de carbono, m\u00e9todos de mapeo de h\u00e1bitats y evaluaciones de enterramiento mediante t\u00e9cnicas avanzadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por parte del CEAC, se compartieron experiencias nacionales en el estudio del secuestro de carbono en ecosistemas costeros, adem\u00e1s de mostrar las potencialidades del Laboratorio de Ensayos Ambientales, constatadas por los visitantes en una visita guiada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>Carbono Azul<\/strong> se refiere al carbono capturado y almacenado en ecosistemas costeros como manglares, pastos marinos y marismas. Estos ambientes desempe\u00f1an un papel clave en la mitigaci\u00f3n del cambio clim\u00e1tico, al absorber grandes cantidades de di\u00f3xido de carbono y contribuir a la protecci\u00f3n de las costas frente a fen\u00f3menos extremos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para Cuba, avanzar en este campo significa fortalecer la resiliencia ambiental, generar informaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica que respalde pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas y abrir oportunidades de cooperaci\u00f3n internacional en la gesti\u00f3n sostenible de sus ecosistemas marinos y costeros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este encuentro marca un paso decisivo en el fortalecimiento de la cooperaci\u00f3n entre ambas instituciones, con el objetivo de impulsar investigaciones y proyectos conjuntos sobre Carbono Azul, y otras tem\u00e1ticas comunes de ambos centros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cefas es una instituci\u00f3n l\u00edder en ciencia marina y de agua dulce, dedicada a garantizar ecosistemas saludables y productivos, y a respaldar pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas basadas en evidencia cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
