Facebook\/Alexis Morales<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El amarradero de&nbsp;<strong>Punta de Mais\u00ed<\/strong>, en el extremo oriental de Cuba, amaneci\u00f3 esta semana sepultado bajo una nueva y masiva capa de sargazo, seg\u00fan document\u00f3 en Facebook el residente&nbsp;<strong>Alexis Morales<\/strong>&nbsp;con una serie de fotograf\u00edas que muestran la playa completamente cubierta por la macroalga de color marr\u00f3n-anaranjado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las im\u00e1genes,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1bssi5Ze51\/\">publicadas<\/a>\u00a0en la red social, revelan entre cinco y seis embarcaciones de pesca varadas en la orilla entre el sargazo, con nombres visibles como \u00abLa Norma\u00bb, \u00abLa Pinta\u00bb, \u00abLenida\u00bb, \u00abLa Ca\u00f1onita\u00bb y \u00abLa Reina\u00bb, todas inmovilizadas por la acumulaci\u00f3n del alga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abAmarradero de Punta de Mais\u00ed, otra gran arribaz\u00f3n de sargasos, espero que alg\u00fan d\u00eda podamos convertir la contaminaci\u00f3n en productos \u00fatiles, es un recurso en otros lugares\u00bb, escribi\u00f3 Morales, resumiendo en pocas palabras la frustraci\u00f3n de una comunidad que enfrenta este fen\u00f3meno de forma recurrente sin contar con medios para gestionarlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Punta de Mais\u00ed, el punto m\u00e1s oriental de Cuba, es una de las zonas m\u00e1s vulnerables del pa\u00eds a las llegadas masivas de sargazo por su exposici\u00f3n directa al Atl\u00e1ntico tropical y al Caribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su econom\u00eda local depende en gran medida de la pesca artesanal, actividad que queda paralizada cada vez que el alga bloquea el acceso al mar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El fen\u00f3meno no es nuevo para la provincia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En junio de 2025,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cibercuba.com\/v1\/noticias\/2025-06-20-u1-e43231-s27061-nid305450-invasion-sargazo-arruina-playas-oriente-cubano-alarma\">una invasi\u00f3n masiva arras\u00f3 toda la costa de Guant\u00e1namo<\/a><\/strong>, afectando localidades como Baitiquir\u00ed, El Guanal, Baracoa, San Antonio del Sur y Yateritas, entre otras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ante aquella emergencia, el\u00a0<strong>CITMA<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cibercuba.com\/v1\/noticias\/2025-06-24-u1-e207888-s27061-nid305700-cuba-emite-alerta-llegada-masiva-sargazo-costas\">emiti\u00f3 una alerta m\u00e1xima<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0por los riesgos sanitarios asociados a la descomposici\u00f3n del alga, que libera sulfuro de hidr\u00f3geno y amon\u00edaco, gases capaces de provocar irritaci\u00f3n ocular, n\u00e1useas, mareos y problemas respiratorios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En la Bah\u00eda de Baitiquir\u00ed,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cibercuba.com\/v1\/noticias\/2025-06-28-u1-e209363-s27061-nid305998-descomposicion-sargazo-pone-riesgo-salud-pobladores\">pobladores presentaron dolores de cabeza y n\u00e1useas<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;por la descomposici\u00f3n del sargazo acumulado, sin que existieran medios locales para gestionar la situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El panorama regional agrava las perspectivas para Cuba. Im\u00e1genes satelitales de mayo de 2025 ya mostraban una biomasa r\u00e9cord de&nbsp;<strong>38 millones de toneladas<\/strong>&nbsp;de sargazo flotando entre \u00c1frica y el Caribe, seg\u00fan datos de la Universidad del Sur de Florida y la NASA, y la&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.infobae.com\/mexico\/2026\/02\/11\/sargazo-en-el-caribe-mexicano-preven-acumulacion-record-en-2026\/\">temporada 2026<\/a>&nbsp;se perfila como una de las m\u00e1s intensas jam\u00e1s registradas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mientras pa\u00edses como M\u00e9xico desplegaron en Quintana Roo 16 unidades de superficie y\u00a0<strong>9,500 metros<\/strong>\u00a0de barreras de contenci\u00f3n solo en el inicio de 2026, Cuba carece de los medios t\u00e9cnicos y econ\u00f3micos para responder a esa escala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En septiembre de 2025, la isla se sum\u00f3 a un plan regional del Caribe contra el sargazo con apoyo europeo, aunque la implementaci\u00f3n de soluciones concretas \u2014como la conversi\u00f3n del alga en biofertilizantes, biog\u00e1s o materiales de construcci\u00f3n\u2014 sigue siendo pr\u00e1cticamente inexistente en el territorio nacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Empresa Pesquera Guant\u00e1namo ha se\u00f1alado en ocasiones anteriores que el sargazo dificulta la pesca artesanal, reduce la recreaci\u00f3n en playas y afecta la econom\u00eda costera, un ciclo que los pobladores de Punta de Mais\u00ed vuelven a vivir esta temporada sin soluciones a la vista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preguntas Frecuentes sobre el Sargazo en Cuba y su Impacto<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 la costa de Guant\u00e1namo sufre tanto por el sargazo?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>La costa de Guant\u00e1namo, especialmente Punta de Mais\u00ed, es vulnerable al sargazo debido a su exposici\u00f3n directa al Atl\u00e1ntico tropical y al Caribe.<\/strong>&nbsp;Esta ubicaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica facilita la llegada masiva de la macroalga, afectando gravemente actividades econ\u00f3micas locales como la pesca artesanal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Fuente: https:\/\/www.cibercuba.com\/v1\/noticias\/2026-05-21-u1-e135253-s27061-nid329920-costa-guantanamo-vuelve-cubrirse-sargazo-otra?utm_medium=manual_post&amp;utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_campaign=cibercuba_noticias_135253<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nuevanamente volvemos a tener una situacion amarradero de Punta de Mais\u00ed,  Guant\u00e1namo, en cuanto a arribo de Sargazos , todo lo cual provoca con la gran cantidad de estas macroalgas que las embarcaciones queden sepultadas, con embarcaciones varadas y pescadores sin acceso al mar.
